Nature Watch September 25th Eling Tide Mill

The walk started with the now usual and expected sunshine, and was attended by 12 enthusiastic members.
Along the walk a Victoria post box set into a wall was seen, for which a short potted history was given regarding age etc by one of the history group members. We were shown some rather  large pumpkins on an allotment along the route, with another discussion as how to many bowls of soup each one would make. Discussions seems to have been a theme  on this walk.
Autumn is now approaching as was noticed by the sloes, rosehips and changing leaf colours on the trees.
Birds seen were swans, jay, magpies with flying displays by kestrel, sparrow hawks, buzzards and ravens.
No cranes were seen this time.
The final discussion was on the location on the next meeting which was agreed, as Blashford Lakes 10am
Friday 30th October meeting in the car park near the centre
No discussion was needed as to the enjoyment of this outing
