27th April 2012

5 members met at Ashlett Creek, on an overcast day, hoping it would not rain. It did not but there was much water under foot!!! We spotted 18 species of birds and spent quite a while trying to see a nightingale but no luck, although we listened to its song for quite a while.
The egg shall found was that of a woodpigeon. We found some old Oak apples, Sumach tree, and others which had to remain nameless. I have been unable to identify the fungi seen.
The next meeting is on the 25th May at Testwood Lakes lower car park by new scout hut. We hope to see the Sand martins in the artificial sand bank.
