Nature Watch Friday 19th December 2014  12 members met at Eling Tide Mil, and again as in the previous two meetings the sun was shining.
The sun was only the beginning of the outing, within 50 yards of the start while still on the tide mill bridge a great black backed gull was spotted on the water. This gull lifted off the water to a height of about 5 to 6 foot then dived straight back into the water, completely submerging coming back up with a fish. The rest of the walk had good views over the water, there was a reported sighting of a seal but we did  not see it. The usual expected birds were seen, several members of the group also saw kingfishers.
At the end of the walk the gull was seen again with another quite large fish.
The only disappointment of the day was that the café was closed for refurbishment.

The next meeting will be 10am Friday 30th January at Ashlett Creek
