25th February Blashford Lakes

Eight of us enjoyed a trip to the hides at Blashford Lakes, even though there was a coach party from West Sussex, we managed to get good views off several interesting birds. Not the Bittern!!
In the Woodland hide, we saw Lesser Redpoll, Bullfinch, Siskin, Brambling, Nuthatch.
In the Ivy hide, Smew, Gadwell, Goosander. A few of us then went to the Tern hide, and saw a large flock of Goosander quite close. Pied wagtail, Lapwing, Goldeneye.
The red fungus seen was the Scarlet Elscap.
The next meeting on Friday 25th March is at Eling. Meet at the Toll Bridge at 10.00
