Report from Bridget

Nine of us went on the bird walk and we managed to reach the hide!
We saw 30 species of birds including a hobby which was spotted from the car park as we arrived. From the hide we saw 3 little ringed plovers which Mike thought may be the young ones that had hatched on the nearby scrapes.
On the journey to the hide there were lots of butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Species included comma, painted lady, clouded yellow, brimstone, banded demoiselle, and emperor.

From Mike
We had an interesting walk with a good variety of birds and the Dunlin in summer plumage was a lucky find - not many turn up at the lakes and the Common Buzzard has suprisingly steered clear of our meets until today. It was good to see the Hobby again over the Centre when we returned at mid-day. We look forward to the next walk at Lower Test Reserve, - details above,
Regards, Mike.
