July Meeting

We had a quiet, warm morning in the Lower Test area with an assortment of passerines but no Swallows or martins at all, nor raptors.
From the hide Coot, Moorhen and Mallard families went about their business and the autumn migration was highlighted by the presence of 10 Green Sandpipers, some feeding, others asleep, whilst the first returning Snipe of the season dropped in under the edge of the reeds.
Just under 40 species in total were recorded.

Our next meeting is at Blashford Lakes on Friday, 26 Sept 2008 at 10am. Parking nowadays is north of Ellingham Drove in the new car park near the Goosander Hide ( to be confirmed ) Regards, Mike.
